New breed part 1

*Saturday June 1st New haven apartments, room #24* Journal entry #1

I found the room that had been listed on the letter that was sent to me... Wasn't hard it seemed the place was one of the few lasting apartments in the city. The rest torn apart with gunfire and bombs. I stepped into the room to the smell of both smoke and the faint smell of vodka. I slowly approached the table that sat in the middle of the room and sat down in front of it, taking out my pen and notebook as I had been told in the letter.

I waited and after a while a man started to speak, he was the one sitting with his back to me, he turned his chair around and showed his face. He didn't look much older then 21 but he had scars and signs of aging almost like he was in his late 30's to early 40's.

He nodded to me and my notebook. "Glad to see you found the place fine." He said in a quiet voice. I only nodded and raised my pen to the paper of the notebook. He cleared his throat and then started to speak.
"Welcome to the town of New Haven, aka humanity's first settlement on the new world here. The first place we've lived safely or so we thought for many years... My name is Shadow and this is my story"

"I was raised in this town from birth. I've seen things no other human being should ever see. But for you to understand that we have to go back to the very beginning." I looked at him and nodded letting him know that I would write anything and all things that I was told.

Shadow shifted in his chair and I had to focus on him to keep him in sight as the room was rather dark, the windows boarded up for both his safety and my own. People had been rioting since the first of last month and it didn't seem to be calming down anytime soon.

"Now, I'm sure you know of the angels right?" He asked me as I looked up from my writing. "Yes sir" I answered quietly, only getting a nod in response. "Then you know what they've done right?" I nodded this time and he turned in his chair.

"When I was young I saw something that young man, young women or anybody for that matter should have seen. Me alongside many of the other kids from the district I used to live in where brought to a supposed festival in the town square, which we found fishy because the Angels never let people into town square unless they had either official business or were planning something" Shadow looked at me and opened the bottom drawer of the desk he sat behind, pulling out a notebook of his own. "This holds every bit of Intel that we had on the angels and what they did that day." He told me as he passed it to me. "I'll be sure to put it with the rest of the notes" I answered quickly and stuffed the book into my bag, making sure to keep it well hidden in-case of either theft or an angel checkpoint.

"They had rounded up all the kids because of what they had planned, apparently the adults had out-lived their usefulness so the kids would be taken under Angel protection and the adults would be put to death. Some for crimes others for just being in the area. Now the square was famous for it's public executions and can you guess where they held this massive one?" Shadow looked at me and I nodded "In town square" I answered as I saw him shake his head.

"The moment I saw my mother and father I knew something was up. I tried to save them but unfortunately what can a bunch of kids do to a group of armed adults?" He paused and sighed quietly. "That's what cause the start of new breed. That's massive slaughter was what sparked our first real push. We would take the town back and then we'd force the angels out of the city no matter what."

A gunshot echoed through the walls as I sat across from Shadow talking with him and taking notes on the past actions of the Devils. The anti angel organization. They had been on many successful missions but it always seemed like the angels had a consent hold on the city.
Shadow sighed again and looked at me. "That's enough for one day, you've got that information plus my statements. You can write the first bit tonight if you wish, but the sooner you're done the sooner we get these out books out to the street so people can learn the truth."

End of the part 1.

I hope you enjoyed reading and I really would like to get some criticism on this piece as I haven't written in a very very long time (Roughly 2 years) So I hope I was still able to write a half decent story. Thanks for your time. I wish you the best of luck in life and in love.
Signed
